Stop the switching of prep-work groups

Every now and again we have to be in groups for class prep-work. Sometimes these groups need to work together, and other times we work independently on a specific topic. When I go to look at the prep-work about a week in advance, it might say that I'm in Group A with persons 1, 2, and 3. If I check back 2 days later, it often switches the groups, so now I'm in Group B with persons 4, 5, and 6. I don't know if this is a bug or some other feature, but it is very inconvenient when I try to do my work somewhat early.
This is problematic for a few reasons. 1: if we have to get a group together to work before class, we want as much time as possible to coordinate, which is complicated if the groups switch one or two days before the class. 2: if some people do the work 5 days early and others do it the night before, and it is independent work, we have uneven groups presenting on the different ideas that were supposed to be presented to the whole class. 3: if we are supposed to meet with our group to discuss what we learned independently, but again have done different things, some people end up in the wrong breakout group and time is wasted while the professor rearranges the groups.
